Maintenance Machinist

Overview

Position Title:

Maintenance Machinist. Wage: $25-$28/hour.

Shift: 1st.

Hours:

5am-3:30pm Mon-Thurs with OT on Fri. Direct hire role in Springfield, MO. Join a growing manufacturing team where your machining skills make a direct impact. The role involves machining precision parts, troubleshooting equipment, and supporting production with custom tooling and repairs. If you have experience with lathes, mills, blueprint reading, tight tolerances, and machine maintenance, this is an opportunity to work on a variety of equipment in a fast-paced industrial environment where no two days are the same.

• Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
• Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate products
• Calculate dimensions or tolerances, using instruments such as micrometers or calipers
• Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations
• Properly and safely select, align, secure and remove holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines
• Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
• Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers
• Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition
• Complete bench top work as directed
• Work closely with miscellaneous Engineering staff members to develop new tools, parts, and fixturing
• Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency
• Check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated or cooled
• Utilize and abide by IATF requirements and safety procedures
• Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions
• Participate in the Great Game of Business open-book management philosophy

• Regularly walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear
• Frequently lift and/or move 35 pounds to 50 pounds
• Minimum of 2 years of experience
• Knowledge of Conversational Controls and how to program and/or the ability to learn
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong math skills to include decimals (to one thousandth) and fractions
• Ability to read and understand drawings and blueprints
• Ability to measure and work with tight tolerances
• Ability to determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed and perform routine maintenance on equipment
• Ensure machine is calibrated and cleaned
• Visualize objects in three dimensions from drawings
• Knowledge of production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
