In this role, you will:
- Safely manufacture fine chemicals, intermediates and API.
- Handle various unit operations (reactions, filtration, distillation, drying, milling, etc.) per written procedures and SOPs.
- Follow and document batch sheet instructions to produce product according to cGMP guidelines.
- Set up equipment (vessels, tanks, centrifuges, dryers, etc.), clean and verify equipment and vessels.
- Record observations of operating conditions.
- Maintain medical fitness to wear a respirator.
- Drive and operate a forklift.
Secondary responsibilities:
- Work prioritization or timing decisions with supervisory oversight.
- Utility adjustments to maintain reaction parameters.
- Maintain process flow through the plant while adhering to all safety, GMP and environmental regulations.
- Resolve processing problems independently or with assistance.
- Adhere to a high housekeeping standard.
Physical activities include:
- Continual walking, standing, reaching, and upper extremity use.
- Frequent bending, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, squatting and kneeling.
- Frequent pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs and over 50 lbs with assistance.
- Work schedule normally 12 hours covering days or nights, weekends and holidays to support 24/7 operation; overtime may be required.
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and indoors in extreme temperatures.
- Remain medically qualified to wear respiratory protection and report for work clean shave.
Qualifications and background:
- Minimum high school diploma or GED, with strong math, reading and comprehension skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude through previous employment/experience.
- Ability to operate simple hand tools.
- Maintain qualifications to wear respiratory protection.
