About the JobThis is a 1st shift position working 5:00 am–3:30 pm, Monday–Thursday, with mandatory overtime as needed.
Location:
4431 W. Calhoun, Springfield, MO 65802
- Operate machine shop equipment (e.g., mills, lathes, grinders, presses, drill presses, CMM) and assembly-line tasks to produce parts within required tolerances.
- Set up equipment, establish machine offsets, maintain tooling, and perform minor operating modifications as needed.
- Visually and quantitatively inspect the output of their process.
- Use general machine shop gauges, operate a CMM, and interpret CMM data to determine when adjustments are needed.
- Review CMM reports to assess and implement CNC equipment adjustments; verify accuracy of adjustments.
- Resolve basic production and machine-operating problems; report non-routine machinery failures to the Team Leader or Production Supervisor.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the department and follow all safety rules and guarding requirements.
- Perform daily Total Preventive Maintenance on equipment to maintain quality.
- Assist in other production areas and support SRC Automotive’s continuous improvement efforts.
- Work within production processes to ensure compliance with IATF-16949 and support Open Book Management principles.
- Two or more years of experience in a manufacturing-paced assembly line setting preferred.
- Ability to perform basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, conversions) and work across metric and SAE standards.
- Ability to use hand, air, and power tools.
- Verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with coworkers in a team environment.
- Basic computer literacy; ability to use systems to retrieve work processes and Bills of Materials.
- Desire to expand knowledge, skills, and abilities through training and education.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures; PPE may be required (steel-toed boots, safety glasses, gloves, ear protection).
- Physical ability to walk, stand, use hands, reach, climb/balance, stoop/kneel/crouch/crawl; may be required to lift 35–50 pounds occasionally.
