JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Title

Maintenance Technician II

1st shift, $30-32/hr depending on experience

Maintenance & Reliability Supervisor

Summary/Objective

The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for preventive maintenance activities, troubleshooting and repairing all production related equipment throughout the plant.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

* Perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance activities per written instructions and job knowledge of the specific piece of equipment to prevent breakdowns. Communicate improvement ideas (add/subtract) element to the PM instructions to help improve the equipment OEE.

* Respond timely to an equipment breakdown to trouble-shoot root-cause of problem, identify possible solutions and implement the solutions. These activities may include identifying and selecting components required to complete the repair.

* Communicate equipment status with operators and appropriate management personnel.

* Utilize hand tools, screwdrivers, wrenches, multi-meter, pipe threader

* Requires work outside of and inside of the machines. Requires various positions for a few minutes to a few hours, such as balancing on narrow footing, climbing, reaching forward/overhead, squatting, kneeling, stooping and/or lying on back, and maneuvering in small tight spaces. Surfaces may be slippery due to coolant and oil. Work off ladders and scissor lift.

* Comply with all safety procedures and policies.

* Understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.

* Adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.

* Must understand, support, and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.

* Select and recommend repair parts, work with and communicate materials needed to complete repair.

* Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.

Skills and Competencies

* Technical Capacity

* Requires working knowledge of industrial machining, plant systems, building maintenance, repair and troubleshooting.
* .

* Must have working knowledge and comply with all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedure and have the ability to identify hazardous energy sources and isolate.

* Computer skills, including software/hardware

* Shop math

* Blueprint Reading

* Shop use of measuring devices and test equipment (Torque pressure, force transducers)

* Understanding temperature controls

* Mechanical

* Plumbing/HVAC

* Electrical

* Pneumatics

* Hydraulics

* Machine operation (drills, press, lathe, milling machines, industrial washers, grinder, polishers, pneumatic tools, etc.)

* Working knowledge of commons industrial chemicals

* Use of PIV (Power Industrial vehicles) including Scissor lift, Platform lift, and Forklift.

* Communication Proficiency

* Organization Skills

* Time Management

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move…
