Job SummaryTo ensure all assigned machines produce a quality food‑safe product at optimum cycle efficiency with minimum scrap and that machines are maintained at the highest standard. The Production Equipment Operator (PEO) conforms to all quality, safety, GMPs and the Food Safety Plan at all times.
Essential Job Functions- Adhere to all GMP, HACCP, SQF, and Food Safety Plan procedures and report non‑compliance.
- Attend all scheduled shifts and meetings as required.
- Monitor product quality continuously, stop deviations immediately, and perform line checks to identify defects.
- Inspect and test product, discard scrap, and alert the Shift Supervisor and Quality Assurance of deviations.
- Diagnose and repair machines with urgency; maintain suggested cycle settings to maximize quality and efficiency.
- Respond quickly to defective cups identified by Packers, Packing Techs, or Quality Assurance.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area in compliance with GMPs.
- Operate 1 to 1½ machine lines (4‑5 machines per line), manage bead feeding, molding, and conveyor output.
- Perform visual and manual inspection of cups, adjust programming box settings as needed.
- Conduct micrometer inspections twice per 12‑hour shift and after each mold change.
- Perform dunk testing and all required quality checks.
- Carry out light machine repair and inspection at the 33″ table; forward major repairs to the parts room.
- Work a 12+ hour shift, involving standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout.
- Manually move cases of finished goods up to 50 pounds.
High School Diploma. Mechanical background preferred.
Required Experience / SkillsExperience operating manufacturing lines, performing line checks and machine maintenance. Ability to diagnose machine problems, maintain cycle settings, perform dunk testing and micrometer inspections, and handle manual material up to 50 pounds.
Physical Demands- Listen, observe, and communicate in a fast‑paced environment.
- Operate machinery and move/transport materials up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Remain stationary for extended periods; stand for long periods up to 12 hours.
- Use hands to finger, handle, and feel objects, tools, and controls; reach, stoop, kneel, crawl, or crouch as required.
- Indoor manufacturing area with moving mechanical parts.
- Exposure to extreme heat and lack of air conditioning.
- Continuous loud noise and odors; occasional airborne particles.
- PPE required at all times (hairnet, hearing protection, safety glasses with side guards).
- Work 8+, 10+, or 12+ hour shifts, weekdays, weekends, and overtime as designated.
