DEBONE Technician-Nights

Overview

Purpose of the position:
To be fluent in all Debone production work on a rotation basis.

• Perform all positions on the line in Debone and rotate through positions as needed, including cutting breasts and wings, pulling skin, using a saw, loading product, tray packing, and any other Debone positions.
• Participate as a member of the Team and contribute to the ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinate work to ensure best practices with all team members.
• Attend appropriate team meetings and foster cohesive teamwork regarding major issues (e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes).
• Identify areas lacking cohesiveness and raise them with the team leader; work with the team to resolve issues and reinforce actions needed to achieve synergy within the organization.
• Familiarize with Simmons Operating Systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN) and understand the role in supporting these systems, including considering the impact of individual actions on the systems and communicating concerns and improvement ideas.
• Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives; acknowledge that the position description is intended to guide activities and may not describe all work required of the role.

• Employee must be able to work in a cold environment down to 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Employee is required to stand and move about for 8–10 hours per day; duties include reaching, standing, moving, lifting, bending, twisting of the neck, simple grasping, fine manipulation/feeling, repetitive motions of the shoulders, arms, and hands; and use of vision and hearing.
• Occasional bending and twisting at the waist; pushing/pulling; talking as part of the job.

• Will use waterproof footwear, gloves, apron, hearing protection, hair nets, and other protective equipment as needed or required.
