A Fabricator Advanced performs moderately skilled welding, grinding and machine operations to expertly fabricate metal tanks, vessels and their components. This position must be able to accurately interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications and adhere to quality standards. An ability to measure, calculate and work with tolerances is needed. Attention to detail, craftsmanship and a commitment to quality are essential.
Essential Job Functions- Operates mobile crane equipment with the capacity of less than 20,000 lbs. and directs the rigging and hoisting of equipment.
- Sets up and operates machines to make production parts to standard shop blueprints.
- Performs welding, grinding and cutting operations in all positions. Care required in blocking, clamping and holding parts to avoid distortion and conform with normal shop tolerances and specifications.
- Grinding where grade and type of abrasives are being determined. Knowledge of abrasives, conditions of metal and finish are necessary.
- Ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, sketches and other specifications with proficiency and minimal direction or supervision.
- Independently quarter heads and shells for fit-up and to determine degrees and location of fittings and nozzles.
- Paints where finish or compliance to specifications are critical.
- Operates spray foam insulating, painting, and sandblast equipment.
- Advanced lifting and tailing abilities.
- Sets up and operates machines that require minimal skills and experience.
- Guide and train coworkers to promote continuous and efficient performance.
- Maintains a clean, safe work environment.
- Adheres to company policies and promotes a safe work environment.
- Performs other duties requiring similar skills and abilities as assigned.
- Attend and contribute to open book management.
- Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position.
- The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, sketches or other specifications with a high degree of proficiency and little or no supervision or direction.
- Ability to promote a safe work environment.
- Ability to take initiative and be a self‑starter to meet production demands and schedules.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Working mechanical knowledge and ability.
- General working knowledge of product, mechanics, shop mathematics, shop processes and procedures is essential.
- A broad knowledge of abrasives, conditions of metal and finish.
- Complete the following company training programs or pass equivalent tests. (These requirements will be waived by the company if an employee can demonstrate they can successfully perform the duties.) For bidding purposes, employees must be able to demonstrate they can perform at least one of the job assignments of this classification.

$22.02 - $23.69 per hour
Shift Differential$2.00 per hour
Variable Compensation RangeIncentive bonus eligibility up to 12% of gross annual salary based on company performance.
