Job Overview
Azenta Life Sciences, located in Springfield, is seeking a 1st Shift Assembler to join our manufacturing team. The role focuses on electronic, mechanical, and electro‑mechanical assembly operations to support cryopreservation solutions.
Responsibilities- Perform assembly operations on assemblies or sub‑assemblies.
- Determine and follow methods and sequence of operations, including wiring, component installation, kit assembly, and assembly of units.
- Set up equipment and adjust tolerances to meet blueprint specifications.
- Move, fabricate, prepare, or clean materials as part of the team.
- Conduct quality control over products during various stages of production.
- Other duties as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Strong math skills and ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Knowledge of basic shop tools and ability to read and access computer‑based drawings.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and critical thinking.
Typical manufacturing environment requiring the ability to lift, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, use personal protective equipment, and remain standing or seated for extended periods. The position may involve reaching, bending, and repetitive lifting.
CompensationBase salary: $18.50 - $22.50 per hour. Compensation may vary based on experience, education, and geographic location.
