Monday–Thursday | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM Pay: $18–$19 per hour
Watson Custom Tanks is actively hiring a Shop Helper to support our growing metal fabrication and manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on production role ideal for dependable individuals looking to build a long-term career in a fast-paced industrial environment. Flexibility, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic are key to success in this position.
Key Responsibilities- Build wooden crates, skids, and pallets for shipment
- Load and unload equipment, raw materials, and freight
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes (training provided if needed)
- Assist with grinding, washing tanks, and removing protective film
- Support shipping and receiving activities
- Gather parts and materials to maintain production flow
- Assist shop floor teams with general labor tasks
- Perform shop cleanup, including dumping scrap using forklifts
- Maintain safe, organized, and efficient work areas
- Perform additional duties as needed to support operations
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Experience & Technical Skills
- 2+ years of manufacturing or shop experience preferred
- Forklift experience preferred
- Ability to read tape measures accurately
- Experience using hand and power tools
Soft Skills
- Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills
- Professional, respectful interaction with coworkers and customers
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent lifting and moving up to 50 pounds
- Use of hands, arms, and fine motor skills
- Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and depth perception
- Must wear required PPE, including safety glasses and steel-toe boots
