Advanced Machine Operator - SRC Automotive

Full‑time Springfield, MO, US

SRC Automotive, Inc. is a leader in the remanufacturing of engines used in the automotive, marine, natural gas & oil and power systems industries.

Our Advanced Machine Operators run equipment such as millers, lathes, grinders, or drill presses for non‑routine or routine core part machining and salvage. They operate either manual machining equipment or CNC controlled equipment to produce production parts to required tolerances for preparation for the assembly process.

Shift: 1st shift, 5:00am to 3:30pm Monday‑Thursday with mandatory overtime on Fridays and Saturdays as needed.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Operate machinery including mills, lathes, grinders, seat/guide/stud presses, induction heat treating equipment, drill presses, CMM, specialized gauging equipment for seat and guides, and operate an assembly line to meet specific tolerances and required quantities.
  • Perform visual and quantifiable inspection of the final product.
  • Resolve basic production and machine operating problems; set up equipment and make minor operating modifications as needed.
  • Follow all safety rules regarding machine operation and proper guarding and maintain a safe working environment by following company safety policies.
  • Assist in other production areas as needed.

Essential Qualifications
  • Prior experience operating close‑tolerance machines such as lathes, drills, grinders, etc.
  • Ability to perform basic math; add and subtract numbers.
  • Ability to use hand, air, and power tools.
  • Effective relationship management skills with co‑workers in a team environment.
  • Basic computer literacy; ability to use computer systems to retrieve work process and Bills of Materials.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a manufacturing‑paced assembly line setting.
  • Specialized training and/or job knowledge in engine and engine components.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
