MILL CONTROLLER – SA STEELWORKS (Shift Position – South Africa), Airport Industria – Cape Town. Provide support to the Rolling Mill. Applicant will need to complete a skills test; only candidates with an average of 70% pass rate will be invited for a personal interview.
Responsibilities- Ensure a consistently high level of production is achieved.
- Take responsibility for machinery within the department.
- Interpret, plan and implement cleaning & maintenance schedules on the stands.
- Ensure quality control according to company standards.
- Compile detailed status feedback reports on stands, including operation status, operation parameters, failures and possible maintenance needs.
- Ensure shift handover is conducted thoroughly and all issues are reported clearly.
- Work overtime as determined by the plant operational status.
- Abide by the regulations set out in O.H.S.A. and company policies.
- Matric with Maths and Science.
- Studying towards a qualification in Engineering is advantageous.
- Mechanical background with 5 years working experience in a similar environment.
- PC literate (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to meet rolling targets as per operational requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment.
- Strong communication/reporting skills with ability to work closely with the Mill foreman.

- 19:00 – 07:00 Night shifts
- Works rotating shifts; roster detailing exact work hours will be supplied.
