Forklift Operator, Material Handler
Position Summary
The primary role of the Shipping Coordinator is to safely handle, load, and unload ingredients and finished goods while ensuring product quality and accuracy. This role includes operating material handling equipment, completing documentation, maintaining facility cleanliness, and supporting plant operations through teamwork and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do in this Role- Safely load and unload ingredients and finished goods from trucks while ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.
- Review shipping documents, labels, and packing slips to verify order accuracy and product information.
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, as needed to support warehouse and plant operations.
- Perform quality checks, complete required documentation, and maintain accurate records of daily activities.
- Maintain facility cleanliness and follow all safety, regulatory, and administrative policies and procedures.
- Cross‑train in other plant functions (mixing, bagging, forklift, etc.) to support overall operations.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to improve shipping efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and other equipment as required.
- Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs. (or 110 lbs. with a partner) in a non‑climate‑controlled environment.
- Strong math, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- You are self‑motivated, dependable, and take ownership of your responsibilities.
- You have a strong focus on safety, quality, and accuracy.
- You are customer‑focused and committed to supporting efficient operations.
- You work well as part of a team and contribute with a positive attitude.
- You are adaptable and willing to learn multiple roles to support plant success.
