Ministry Function

The Editor supports the ministry at Convoy of Hope by editing, proofreading, and occasionally writing content related to general communication, development, marketing, web, digital, and public relations copy. This individual assists with the fulfillment of communication assets to in‑house departments, external clients, and friends of the organization.

• Edits and proofreads content generated within and tasked to the Marketing & Communications, including email content, internal and external reports, website copy, SEO content, direct mail pieces, social media posts, press releases, print articles, scripts, marketing material, and other collateral.
• Ensures all assigned copy adheres closely to brand and voice style guidelines.
• Assists in updating brand and voice guidelines when necessary as a member of the Content Team.
• Acts as the primary proofreader for Convoy of Hope’s quarterly magazine, Hope Quarterly.
• Occasionally writes copy for the organization’s evolving needs as assigned by the Content Director.
• Develops communication assets for use by the organization and other departments in collaboration with other members of the Content Team.
• Meets with clients on projects as needed.
• Fulfills all other duties as assigned.

• A Bachelor of Arts in English, communications, journalism, or a related field is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two or more years of demonstrated experience in editing content for print, video, and digital media is preferred.
• Works on multiple projects with tight, overlapping deadlines.
• Edits for consistency, accuracy, and competency.
• Is self‑motivated to multi‑task, stay organized, and prioritize projects.
• Possesses strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Attends and actively participates in COH At Home Week meetings and activities as a required responsibility to the organization and fellow team members.
• Serves as an advocate for the ministry, striving to nurture, broaden, and develop financial and other resource opportunities to support and expand organizational and program ministry.
• Positively represents the ministry of Convoy of Hope, including its mission statement and core values, to all outside constituencies.
• As a Christian organization, Convoy of Hope believes it is critical that team members embrace the organization's religious purposes for which it exists and not only agree with its Statement of Faith but demonstrate it in their lives on an ongoing basis.
