Social Media Specialist

Missouri State University is hiring a Social Media Specialist to create engaging and student-centered content for social media platforms that highlight campus traditions, alumni pride, and donor impact. The specialist will collaborate with University Advancement Relations staff to capture and edit video content, attend events, and monitor social media engagement to connect the audience to Missouri State's community and achievements.

• Create and manage monthly content calendars and develop creative social media content ideas.
• Capture and edit short-form videos; participate in trend research for relevant social media platforms.
• Attend campus and university advancement events to gather real-time content.
• Highlight student experiences, alumni stories, and philanthropic impact to strengthen community engagement.
• Engage with multiple social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Linked In, and emerging channels.
• Required skills include familiarity with social media tools, video editing, on-camera presence, and strong communication.
• Must be a current Missouri State University student in good academic standing.
• Hourly pay rate is $15.00 with a weekly commitment of 10-15 hours.
