Volunteer: Dinner Service & Front Desk Support

Meal Delivery Volunteer

Prepare and deliver 40 individually packaged, ready-to-eat meals for youth on a scheduled day. Groups are responsible for purchasing/preparing the meals and dropping off the meals between 3:00-4:00pm on the scheduled day. Please provide plates, utensils, and drinks if possible. Give us a call at 417‑225‑7489 to schedule a delivery day.

Want to serve the meal? Groups can now serve the meal onsite with some guidelines:

• Dinner must be ready to serve at 4pm.
• Up to 4 volunteers per group (our kitchen is small).
• Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
• Volunteers must have hair tied back and wear gloves.

Position Summary:

The Kitchen, Inc. Front Desk Volunteer serves as the first point of contact for community members, donors, and service partners. This role involves answering phone calls, greeting visitors, and accepting in‑kind donations. Volunteers in this position help maintain a warm, respectful, and professional environment.

Saturday packing sessions are most often dedicated to filling bags with nutritious, kid‑friendly food for Ozarks Food Harvest’s Weekend Backpack Program. The Weekend Backpack Program provides children facing hunger with meals and snacks every weekend of the school year when they might otherwise go without. Volunteers fill thousands of bags each week with 6 meals and 2 snacks for local children.
