Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation (OACAC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing poverty and strengthening communities by providing services and support to individuals and families throughout the Ozarks.
Through our Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Program, OACAC works alongside local communities, organizations, and residents to identify needs, strengthen partnerships, and develop innovative solutions that improve lives across our 10-county service area.
Position OverviewAre you passionate about bringing people together, building community partnerships, and creating lasting change?
OACAC is seeking a Community Resource Specialist to help strengthen communities through outreach, education, collaboration, and innovative programming. In this role, you'll work throughout southwest Missouri connecting with local leaders, organizations, and residents to coordinate community initiatives, facilitate educational events, support strategic planning, and expand access to valuable resources.

Work ScheduleMonday–Friday
Full-Time, 40 hours per week, occasional weekends and evenings as needed
Frequent travel throughout OACAC's 10-county service area
Key Responsibilities- Represent OACAC at community meetings, coalitions, events, and outreach activities
- Coordinate and facilitate community education programs, including Poverty Simulations, REALL, VOICE presentations, Life Skills classes, and monthly food distributions
- Develop and implement community engagement projects that support agency priorities
- Assist with the agency's Community Needs Assessment through research, data collection, stakeholder engagement, and community forums
- Support implementation of OACAC's Strategic Plan and agency initiatives
- Recruit, coordinate, and support County Advisory Committees, volunteers, and community partners
- Research innovative strategies and best practices that address poverty and strengthen communities
- Develop and distribute educational materials and community resources
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and project documentation
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Missouri driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance
- Ability to travel frequently throughout OACAC's 10-county service area
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field
- Experience with community engagement, outreach, facilitation, or public speaking
- Experience coordinating community events, volunteer programs, or collaborative projects
- Knowledge of regional resources and community organizations

- Ability to analyze community data and identify emerging needs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database software
- Ability to represent OACAC professionally within the community
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Starting pay: $21.27 per hour
