Position ObjectiveTo help, assist, and lead out in family ministry through our Access ministry throughout the church, but primarily in Kidslife. The Access Associate will work with the Family Pastor, Kidslife Director, Student Pastor, Growth Director, and Worship Director as needed. The Access Associate will strive to serve kids, students, and adults with disabilities as well as their families.

- In charge of the spiritual direction/health of a leadership team.
- In charge of disseminating the spiritual vision/mission of the church.

- Use the Access handbook and other resources to implement a clear theological and practical vision for disability inclusion and caregiver support.
- Ensure individuals with disabilities are meaningfully integrated into worship, small groups, and church life.
- Champion a church‑wide culture of belonging, accessibility, and compassion.
- Collaborate with leadership to align the ministry with the church’s mission and values.
- Assess and respond to the spiritual, social, and practical needs of individuals with disabilities.
- Develop appropriate accommodations for worship services, children’s ministry, student ministry, life groups, and other events in the church.
- Provide adaptive curriculum or sensory‑friendly environments as needed.
- Equip ministry leaders with tools and training to support inclusive participation.
- Ensure safety and best practices in all ministry environments.
- Provide care, prayer, and encouragement to caregivers.
- Develop teams, respite opportunities, and fellowship gatherings for caregivers.
- Identify practical needs (meals, respite care, counseling referrals, etc.) and mobilize support.
- Advocate for caregiver health, recognizing emotional, spiritual, and physical challenges.
- Create rhythms of appreciation and affirmation for caregivers, like a respite event.
- Recruit, train, and shepherd a team of volunteers with a clear pathway of onboarding those volunteers.
- Provide disability‑awareness and sensitivity training as needed.
- Establish clear role expectations and background screening procedures.
- Support and care for volunteers.
- Maintain sustainable volunteer schedules to prevent burnout.
- Evaluate church facilities for accessibility (physical, sensory, communication).
- Develop and maintain inclusive ministry environments (buddy systems, sensory rooms, etc.).
- Partner with ministry leaders to adapt programming.
- Maintain policies that ensure dignity, safety, and excellence.
- Build relationships with local disability organizations, schools, and service providers.
- Use the adapted toy drive and the workshop as ways to reach out to the community.
- Stay informed on best practices and emerging resources.
- Serve as a bridge between the church and the disability community.
- Maintain confidential records of participant needs and care plans.
- Manage ministry budget and resources.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding events, expectations, and updates.
- Because of these job responsibilities, Fellowship Bible Church deems that this job meets the requirements of the ministerial exemption.
