Job Summary

Position Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Volunteer Coordinator to lead our volunteer engagement efforts. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, experience in community service, and a passion for community engagement. As the Volunteer Coordinator you will be responsible for managing robust volunteer programs and engagement, including individual, corporate, and volunteer cultivation to increase participation for older adults at Cardinal Ritter Senior Services.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit, schedule, and manage volunteer support for daily ministry needs, events, activity director support, residential companionship, and events while identifying new volunteer opportunities for ministry.
  • Coordinate development of appropriate volunteer recruitment, recognition, retention, and motivational programs.
  • Maintain Better Impact Volunteer Database to ensure accurate information, provide accurate reporting of volunteer hours, demographics, and qualifications.
  • Work closely with program managers and activity directors to provide well-informed, well-trained, and well-managed groups of volunteers.
  • Represent Catholic Charities Community team by building connections with businesses, parishes, schools, and groups.
  • Attend volunteer and community fairs to strengthen and promote outreach initiatives.
  • Provide support at events; collaborate with activity directors, volunteers, and staff to achieve event success; collaborate with Volunteer Coordinators from Catholic Charities Ministries and attend all volunteer connection meetings (in-person and virtual).
  • Build a creative and engaging volunteer experience to support residents in wellness for all Cardinal Ritter Programs – in-residential, at-home senior outreach, Relatives Acting As Parents Program, etc.
  • Write and manage the Cardinal Ritter volunteer newsletter and other items as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements
  • Experience in a non-profit organization, working with volunteers, and community engagement.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal relations.
Skills Required
  • Organization and time‑management skills.
  • Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Publisher, Word).
  • Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
  • Efficient communication skills through phone call, email, etc.
  • Ability to work in a team environment while also being willing to work with a diverse array of personalities under pressure and within deadlines.
  • Strong team member that works well with coworkers, volunteers, and senior professionals.
  • Ability to work in Better Impact – Volunteer Database, no prior training required but willingness to learn.
Pre-Employment Screening

All candidates receiving an employment offer must submit a pre-employment screening. The screenings will include criminal background check and other background checks (as needed), Family Care Safety Registration, drug screen, an employment and education or licensure/certification verification, and Covid‑19 and Influenza vaccination.
