Core Pastoral Duties

• Worship & Preaching:
  • Lead Sunday Services
  • Preach the Word
  • Collaborate with the worship committee to plan meaningful experiences
  • Provide worship experiences and the practice of ministry within the church and community.
• Sacraments & Rites:
  • Celebrate weddings and funerals for the church community.

  Lead weekly adult Bible studies and provide adult leadership for youth and assist with music ministries.
• Pastoral Care:
  Conduct hospital visits, home-centered calls, and provide counseling as needed.
• Community Building:
  Foster an environment of love and healing; identify and re-engage inactive members while supporting those with special needs and to provide pastoral counseling as needed.
• Growth:
  Provide instruction for prospective members and actively recruit new participants, seek ways of motivating members to be active in all aspects of church life.
• Administration & Leadership Office Management:
  Maintain set office hours and work with the office administrator on bulletins, newsletters and other correspondence.
• Governance:
  Attend church board meetings and serve as a resource/counsel for committees (voice/counsel only; no vote).
