We are hiring an organizer for this position beginning August 24th, lasting through Election Day.
We are looking for Candidates who are local to Springfield and the surrounding areas.

With an on-the-ground presence in communities all across the country, our world-class team runs successful civic engagement campaigns to build a future that's fairer, healthier, safer, and more peaceful for everyone. We are excited to engage members of the community to advocate for climate action and a stronger democracy.
GeneralOverview:
The Community Organizer will work on student voter turnout and mobilization efforts.
Organizers will execute a rigorous campaign plan that integrates volunteer recruitment, voter registration, petitioning, event organizing, coalition building, and digital engagement – all aimed at mobilizing get out the vote.
Organizers will be expected to manage a team of two fellows, lead from the front by canvassing themselves, moving volunteers through the leadership pipeline, and hitting the ground running.
What You'll Do:Recruit and Train a Community of Supporters and Volunteers
- Manage a team of 2 fellows.
- Call and text supporters and recruit them into grassroots actions.
- Run grassroots skills trainings to develop effective campaigners among volunteers.
- Keep meticulous track of a volunteer list so that no potential volunteer falls through the cracks.
- Hold regularly scheduled petitioning canvasses to identify supporters and immediately follow up with potential volunteers identified in the community.
- Represent the campaign through participation in community spaces and events, while engaging and uplifting coalition and partner organizations.
- Organize and execute in-person events demonstrating support for key campaign issues and excitement around the upcoming election, including educational events, trainings, rallies, and more.
- Educate students, faculty and others on campus about the upcoming election
Nail 100% of all messaging and legal requirements and ensure that volunteers do the same.
- Demonstrate public support by recruiting volunteers to post on their own social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
- Use peer-to-peer texting services and relational organizing tools to communicate with community members.
- Send timely and compelling email campaigns to recruit activists to campaign activities.
- Track every interaction with detailed notes in order to report numbers daily and write weekly reports on the results of the campaign.

Must have a valid drivers license, and also you will need to meet our driver authorization standards.
