• The psychiatric unit nurse cares for patients with behavioral health illnesses in an acute care setting.
• The psychiatric unit nurse is responsible to conduct intake interviews, assess and evaluate the patient, establish a plan of care, maintain a safe therapeutic environment, work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team, and may conduct therapeutic groups.

• Required:
  
  Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

• Preferred:
  Previous nursing experience

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
• Exhibits valuable time management skills
• Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
• Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
