Licensed Practical Nurse

Overview

Find your calling at Mercy! As an LPN, you will utilize the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of a licensed prescriber or a Registered Professional Nurse. You will maintain professional accountability for patient care, coordinate with other departments, uphold patient rights and confidentiality, and perform duties consistently with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards.

• Education
  :
  Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure.
• Licensure
  :
  Must obtain, and maintain a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.
• Physical Requirements/Demands
  :
  Stand/work most of the time; significant amount of bending, stooping, lifting, turning patients with assistance; push/pull/grip up to 50 pounds.
• Experience
  :
  Will consider new or experienced LPNs.
• Certifications
  :
  Must hold Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or complete within 30 days of hire. One or more of the following certifications may be required, such as acquisition within department timeframe:
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
  • Other unit-specific certifications as required
• Preferred Certifications
  : IV Certification within 1 year of hire.
