Position Overview
We are looking for an RN to work out of our Springfield office. Full time preferred, part time or PRN may be considered.
The hospice nurse spends most of the work day in their car driving to see patients within a set geographical area. Some meetings occur at the office on occasion. The job offers a lot of autonomy and teamwork.
DutiesHospice nurses see patients in private homes (including assisted living facilities and skilled nursing facilities) and anywhere a patient calls home.
Hospice nurses perform a head‑to‑toe assessment, provide symptom management and skilled care to patients facing terminal illnesses, as well as providing emotional support and education on death and dying.
The RN Case Manager supervises LPNs and CNAs, monitors medication lists and appropriateness of medications, assesses for DME needs, provides wound care and other treatments as needed.
Hospice nurses work with an interdisciplinary team composed of RNs, LPNs, CNAs, Social Workers, Chaplains, Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Bereavement Staff, and volunteers.
QualificationsCurrent license in the State of Missouri as an RN and residence within commutable distance to the Springfield office.
Can be trained. Requires a gentle, loving heart to support patients and families facing terminal illness.
Team player, represents company well in community.
Computer and smartphone skills for EMR charting, email, mileage calculation apps, etc.
Reliable transportation and car insurance.
