Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Travel)

Springfield, Missouri

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM) | 36 or 48 Hours Per Week | Onsite

• Utilize the nursing process to perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
• Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
• Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality
• Function within the scope of nursing practice consistent with established guidelines, the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, and applicable standards of care
• Perform physical patient care tasks including lifting, pushing, and repositioning patients as needed

• Current RN license; must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold Missouri licensure
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility, or minimum 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma facility; experience level must be indicated on resume
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
• TNCC certification required
• NIHSS certification required prior to start date (submissions accepted without, but must be obtained before assignment begins)
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted

• Experience with trauma and pediatric emergency patients in a high-volume environment (200+ patients per day)
• High-acuity emergency department experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR

• Work in a 68-bed emergency department serving a diverse, high-acuity patient population with a standard nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1
