Cox Health is a Level 1 Stroke and Trauma center. The 8th floor is the main nursing unit caring for patients with stroke, trauma, seizures, spinal fusions, traumatic brain injuries, craniotomies, and telemetry patients. It is a team‑oriented, fast‑paced learning environment. The unit has nurse educators and nurses with certifications in ACLS, Trauma, and NIHSS.
Additional Information About the Position for Qualified Candidates- Up to $7,500.00 sign‑on bonus
- Up to 40 hours of front‑loaded paid time off
- Up to $3,000.00 relocation bonus
- $1.00 certification pay
- $1.00 BSN pay
- Career ladder bonus eligible up to $5,000.00
The Medical‑Surgical nurse is responsible for managing the care of adult or geriatric patients with general medical conditions or general surgical procedures. The nurse must assess patient condition, administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, keep records, and provide patients and families with support and education.
Education- Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Preferred: Previous nursing experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
- Exhibits valuable time‑management skills
- Strong critical thinking/problem‑solving skills
- Flexibility and ability to work in a multi‑tasking environment
Required: RN license active in the state of Missouri
