Overview
Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

The Emergency Trauma Center is a dynamic department where no day is the same. It is a Level 1 Trauma and Stroke center, recognized for outstanding trauma services in both Missouri and Arkansas. It serves as the region’s only Regional Burn Center and includes 70 exam/treatment areas, 6 designated trauma suites, 11 beds dedicated pediatric emergency care, specialty behavioral health resources, a SANE program, and a hands‑on Emergency Trauma Center Nursing Fellowship.
ResponsibilitiesAs a professional nurse in our Emergency Trauma Center, you will interact with nearly every healthcare specialty, caring for patients with minor illnesses to life‑threatening diseases or injury, and maintaining patient rights and confidentiality throughout all interactions.
Qualifications- Education:
Graduate of a State approved School of Nursing. - Licensure:
Current RN licensure with the Missouri State Board of Nursing or current Missouri temporary work permit. - Experience:
Must have hospital‑based experience; preferred one year Emergency Department experience. - Certifications:
ETC and Acute Care Center RNs must hold a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within their probation period. ETC RN’s must have a current ACLS card or complete a course within 6 months of hire. ETC RN’s must also hold current PALS or ENPC, and TNCC cards or complete courses within one year of hire.
