Registered Nurse or Graduate Nurse- Cardiac Medical Intermediate 4B

Overview

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Nurses work 7a-7p or 7p-7a with rotational weekends. Full Time and Part Time available.

The 4B Cardiac Unit, comprising 31 beds, focuses on adult cardiac patients, drug loading, post‑angio, CHF, vascular and medical patients.

Shift schedules include days (0700‑1900) and nights (1900‑0700), with weekend rotation every 2 weeks.

Clinical skills include:

• Telemetry monitoring
• Pacemaker/ICA care
• Post‑angio care
• TR band
• Bi Pap
• 5 main medication drips

• Graduate or upcoming graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.
• Personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
• Physical requirements/demands: push, pull, or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis; prolonged standing and walking each shift; ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; consideration given for comparable education, experience, and successful licensure.
• Personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state.
• Physical requirements/demands: stand or walk most of the time on duty; significant bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance; push, pull, or grip up to 50 pounds.
• Experience:

• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred certification: IV certification.
