The Cardiology Nurse is responsible for managing the care of adult or geriatric patients experiencing acute, chronic, and/or terminal cardiovascular diseases, comorbid medical conditions, and associated procedures. The nurse must be able to assess patient condition, administer medications and monitor patient response, monitor and interpret telemetry, and provide patients and families with support and education.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and provide appropriate care based on cardiovascular needs.
• Administer medications and monitor patient response.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and respond to telemetry changes.
• Support and educate patients and families regarding conditions and treatments.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

• Education: Required:
  Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program;
  Preferred:
  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Experience: Preferred:
  Previous nursing experience
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication; effective leadership; time management; strong critical thinking and problem-solving; ability to multitask
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Required: RN license active in the state of Missouri
