Registered Nurse- NICU - Weekend Option - Day Shift

Facility:
Cox Health South, 3801 S National Ave, Springfield, Missouri 65807. Department: 1045 SLC‑CH Neonatal ICU. Scheduled weekly hours: 36, typically 6:30AM‑7:00PM, day shift.

A NICU nurse cares for newborn infants who are premature, born with congenital deformities, have experienced delivery complications, or have life‑threatening illnesses. The role includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating treatments and the plan of care, administering medications, performing complex procedures, operating sophisticated technology, and coordinating interdisciplinary care. The nurse also provides comfort and education to families.

• Required:
  
  Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN‑approved program.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

• Preferred:
  Previous nursing experience.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective leadership abilities.
• Strong time‑management skills.
• Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Flexibility and ability to work in a multitasking environment.

• Required:
  
  RN license active in the state of Missouri.
• Required:
  
  BLS must be obtained within 90 days.
• Must obtain NRP within one year of hire.
