Provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff, including taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, and changing linens. Obtain information on patient condition requested by nursing staff and report any changes. All tasks performed are within the scope of practice as directed.

Functions within a classroom and clinical learning environment to obtain training as unlicensed assistive personnel. During clinical rotation, performs duties such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, changing linens, and other responsibilities within scope. Reports changes in patient condition to nursing staff or clinical educator. Completion of training is validated with a competency assessment.

Preferred:
High School Diploma or Equivalent.

• Required:
  
  Minimum 3 months experience as a nursing assistant in an inpatient or long‑term care setting, EMT, or Surgical Technologist within the past 3 years.
• Or completion of an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program within the past 3 years.
• Or completion of the "fundamentals of nursing" course with clinical in an accredited nursing program or practical nursing education program.
• Or possession of a Missouri CNA License.
• Or possession of a Missouri CNA Appendix and a Missouri CNA license obtained within 120 days of hire.
