Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments.

- Education:
Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program;
Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure. - Licensure:
Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements - Experience:
Can be new or experienced LPN - Certifications:
Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire - NOTE:
one or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: - ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support)
- Six Assessment & Care Modules
- Other unit-specific certifications as required
- Physical Requirements:
- Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Job DescriptionResponsibilities:
- Under general supervision, responsible for evaluating donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures
- Provides limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medication or treatments in accordance with licensure or certification
- Interviews donors and performs medical history reviews to obtain necessary information to determine suitability to donate plasma
- In conjunction with the Center Medical Director, responds to medically related questions and provides information to staff on donor suitability
- Reviews test results and determines continued donor suitability; assesses donor symptoms that may result in the inability to continue donating
- Notifies and counsels donors regarding reactive test results; refers donors to community facilities for follow‑up and counseling
- Provides routine care following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); escalates critical medical situations to Center Physician or local medical service providers as required
