Description:

The position involves performing direct patient care activities across all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for monitoring and coordinating patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Fulfills the role within the scope of nursing preparation and established guidelines of nursing practice. Ensures compliance with nursing regulations and standards. Maintains professional accountability for providing quality patient care.

Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in collaboration with other departments. Safeguards patient rights and confidentiality of information. Participates in physical demands of the job, which may include standing and walking for extended periods, bending, stooping, and lifting. Requires meeting specific physical demands associated with patient care activities. May involve working varying schedules based on patient care needs.

Exposed to high-risk situations involving blood and body fluids. Utilizes nursing processes to care for patients post-trauma and with medical comorbidities. Adheres to the guidelines of mission, values, and service standards within the nursing profession. The hospital has received a grade for safety from a recognized organization.
