Must-Have Skills/

Experience:

1 year Emergency Department experience in a Level 1 trauma hospital or 2 years in a Level 2 trauma facility.

Description:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care. Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by the healthcare team. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments to optimize care and comfort. Ensures patient rights and confidentiality are upheld. Performs duties consistent with professional standards and service values. Provides direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice. Demonstrates skill in human relations and communication. Possesses demonstrated clinical expertise in their area of responsibility. Stands and walks most of the time on duty. Lifts and pushes patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs.

Works in a clean, air-conditioned area with physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs. Achieves optimal performance while adhering to professional standards. Engages in a busy, high-acuity environment effectively. Participates in professional development and education opportunities. The facility is a recognized center for trauma, stroke, and burn care, emphasizing patient satisfaction while maintaining safety and innovative practices. Community activities and local attractions are plentiful, offering a variety of recreational options.
