Job TitleTravel RN – Emergency Department (Nights)
LocationSpringfield, Missouri
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Travel | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 or 48 hours per week guaranteed | 13–26 week assignment
Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for all age groups in a high-acuity Emergency Department setting
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Maintain professional accountability for provision of care and evaluate the effectiveness of care delivered by other direct care givers
- Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality
- Function within the scope of nursing practice consistent with established state nursing practice guidelines, mission, and service standards
- Demonstrate strong human relations and communication skills in a fast-paced, urban Level 1 Trauma, Stroke, STEMI, and regional burn center environment
- Current RN license; must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility, or minimum 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma facility (must be reflected on resume)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
- TNCC certification required
- NIHSS certification required prior to start date (submissions accepted without, but must be obtained before starting)
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1 – April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Experience with trauma and pediatric emergency patients
- Experience in a high-volume environment (200+ patients per day) with high-acuity cases
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Personality traits that align with a determined, decisive, and flexible working style
- Work in a nationally recognized Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center, Level 2 Stroke Center, and STEMI center with a strong reputation for safety, innovation, and patient satisfaction
- Gain experience in a dynamic, high-acuity urban emergency department with a 68-bed unit and a typical patient ratio of 4:1
