American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a Main Operating Room day shift position requiring Level 1 or 2 Trauma experience and both scrub and circulator skills.
Details- Work in the Main Operating Room of a hospital environment, including Main OR (22 beds), ASC (8 beds), and Ortho (10 beds) units
- Patient population ranges from outpatient to critical care inpatient cases
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Utilizes various OR equipment including the DaVinci Robot
- EPIC EMR used
- Day shift schedule, 4x10, 06:30-17:00
- Weekend hours required as needed by facility
- Call requirements apply on any scheduled day, averaging 5 or fewer calls per 8 weeks
- Floating required as needed by facility
- Active RN license eligible for licensure in Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri
- BLS certification from AHA required
- Minimum 2 years of Level 1 or 2 Trauma experience required; teaching hospital experience will be considered
- Scrub and OR Circulator experience required
- Black scrub color required; jeans and unprofessional attire not permitted
- Assist Vascular Surgeon in OR and Hybrid Imaging suite
- Work alongside a team of nurses and surgical techs on Endo and open surgical cases
- Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups
- Coordinate patient care activities with other departments to optimize care and comfort
- Maintain professional accountability and evaluate effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers
- Uphold patient rights and confidentiality of patient information
- Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1, with no declinations accepted
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter
- Physical demands include standing and walking most of the shift, lifting and pushing patients on stretchers and wheelchairs, and pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs
- Facility recognized as a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and Level 2 Stroke Center
- Local candidates accepted, with bill rate reduced for those living within 50 miles of the facility
- Up to 5 days of requested time off allowed, must be made up during the assignment
