Clinical Research Registered Nurse (RN)
The Clinical Research RN coordinates and conducts clinical trial activities while ensuring participant safety, protocol compliance, and accurate data collection. This role works closely with investigators, sponsors, and study participants to support successful research outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating clinical research activities and patient visits.
- Screening, consenting, educating, and monitoring study participants.
- Administering investigational products and performing protocol-required procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with study protocols, GCP, and regulatory requirements.
- Collecting, documenting, and maintaining accurate study data and source records.
- Processing laboratory specimens and maintaining study supplies.
- Monitoring participant safety and reporting adverse events as required.
- Collaborating with investigators, sponsors, CROs, and research staff.
- Supporting patient recruitment efforts and community outreach activities.
- Assisting with training and mentoring research team members.
- Attending study meetings and performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Nursing diploma, ADN, or BSN.
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- BSN: 2+ years of nursing experience.
- ADN/Diploma: 3+ years of nursing experience.
- Experience performing patient assessments, vital signs, ECGs, spirometry, phlebotomy, or willingness to learn.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer applications.
Preferred qualifications include:
- 2+ years of clinical research experience.
- Phlebotomy experience.
- Knowledge of clinical trial protocols, GCP, and regulatory requirements.
