American Traveler is hiring a Tele RN for a night shift surgical/cardiac unit requiring at least 1 year of tele experience and a MO or compact RN license.
Details- Surgical unit with cardiac/med-surg patient population, including post-trauma and post-surgical patients
- 32-bed unit with patient ratios varying from 1:5-1:6 on days to 1:6-1:8 on nights
- Uses Alaris pumps, telemetry monitoring, and lift equipment
- EPIC EMR system in use
- Night shift schedule, 19:00-07:30
- Weekend hours as required by the facility
- No on-call requirements
- Rotational floating required
- Active RN license eligible for licensure in Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri
- BLS certification from AHA required
- 4 trauma credits required, or must be completed within first two weeks of start
- NIHSS certification required prior to start (may submit without initially)
- ACLS certification from AHA preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient tele experience required
- Experience and competence in drug titration required
- Trauma experience preferred
- No gaps in employment exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
- Provides direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups
- Coordinates patient care with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes and comfort
- Maintains professional accountability and evaluates care provided by other caregivers
- Works within a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and Level 2 Stroke Center
- Requires standing and walking most of shift, with bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- Push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs, pinch up to 15 lbs, and minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling required
- High risk exposure to blood and body fluids
- Black scrubs required; torn clothing and open-toed shoes not permitted
- Night shift staff orient on day shift and must be available the entire orientation week
- Up to 5 days of RTO allowed but must be made up during the assignment; no RTO approved during first week
- Only 1 holiday RTO request permitted per assignment
- Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required November 1-April 1, with no declinations accepted
- First-time travelers may be considered
- Local candidates accepted, though bill rate is reduced for candidates within 50 miles of the facility
