Dickerson Park Zoo Zoo Keeper - Diversity of Life (Reptiles, Amphibians, and Invertebrates)
The Dickerson Park Zoo is seeking it's next Zoo Keeper. The Zoo's animal collection is composed of many species managed through the Species Survival Plan of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The Zoo participates in AZA SAFE programs for threatened species such as maned wolf, chinchilla, Asian elephants, and more. Our Zoo Keepers are a part of a collaborative team environment, that work closely with veterinary staff, education and maintenance.
This position will work primarily in the Diversity of Life (DOL) section of Dickerson Park Zoo, focusing on our zoo's Reptiles, Amphibians, and Invertebrates. We are looking for an individual with a passion for and experience in the husbandry of these taxa that works well in a team atmosphere. Experience with venomous and dangerous reptiles is preferred.
Dickerson Park Zoo supports more than thirty programs to save animals in the wild. Having met their rigorous standards, the Zoo has been accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums since 1986.

Experience RequiredExperience, Education, and Training:
Requires two years of experience in an animal science-related area including the care of domestic, native, and exotic animals. A combination of education and experience can substitute for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis. Experience requirements must be commensurate with the specialty area associated with current vacancy.
