The Role:

Wonders of Wildlife (WOW) has a team of over 50 animal care professionals. The Aquarists I and II roles contribute to this team by caring for a variety of aquatic animals including daily husbandry tasks, supporting animal training and welfare practices, and ensuring tanks/habitats are in optimal condition. This role is primarily based in Springfield, MO with some opportunities to support other Conservation Attractions.

A successful Aquarist typically has a minimum of two to four years' experience working in an aquarium or other professional setting along with a Bachelor's degree in biology or a related field. Aquarists also function as divers, and must possess adequate swimming and diving abilities.

WOW is one of the nation's largest aquariums and is home to 35,000 animals. The role works with a diverse range of animals and has opportunities for career progression. This position typically works early morning hours through the early afternoon. Weekend and holiday coverage is typical.
