Quality Control Technician – Aggregates (Relocation package included) Position Summary
An established aggregate production operation is seeking a Quality Control Technician to support daily quality assurance activities. This role works closely with site operations leadership and production teams to ensure materials meet internal specifications and applicable industry standards. Responsibilities include field sampling, laboratory testing, data reporting, and coordination with external testing agencies when required.
This position requires hands‑on material sampling, attention to detail, sound judgment, and strong communication skills. The role is based at an aggregate quarry operation in southeast Missouri.
Key Responsibilities- Collect aggregate samples from stockpiles, conveyors, and other designated locations using ASTM or approved industry sampling procedures.
- Perform laboratory testing on aggregate materials as directed by site operations leadership.
- Conduct required tests including gradation analysis and #200 wash (ASTM C136, ASTM C117).
- Accurately record and manage test results using Microsoft Excel or similar data systems.
- Communicate testing results promptly to operations personnel to support production adjustments when necessary.
- Prepare and submit representative samples to third‑party laboratories for additional testing.
- Coordinate and oversee third‑party sampling activities to ensure proper procedures are followed.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, testing areas, and documentation in an organized and compliant manner.
- Support general laboratory and administrative tasks as needed.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction materials sampling and laboratory testing preferred.
- ACI Aggregate and/or Soils Base Testing certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of ASTM testing procedures related to aggregates.
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer applications.
- Ability to perform physical sampling duties and handle aggregate materials.
- Must successfully complete required pre‑employment screenings, including background and drug testing.
