Position: Principal Quality Engineer: Material Review Board Crib Lead (Onsite)

About the Role

Position:
Quality Engineer – Non‑Conforming Management

Location:

US‑MI‑HOLT‑PLANT (5 ~ 1781 Holloway Dr, PLANT5)
Role Type:
Onsite— U.S. citizenship required (no security clearance).

Responsibilities
  • Manage non‑conforming material intake, triage, prioritization, dispositioning, and return to operations process.
  • Lead the facility’s Material Review Board Process.
  • Support the Quality Clinic in managing non‑conforming material from suppliers and escapes.
  • Resolve turnbacks to improve throughput and quality traceability.
  • Investigate non‑conforming material to determine root cause, identify corrective actions, and track effectiveness.
  • Review engineering documentation to ensure it contains the necessary quality assurance and customer provisions and criteria.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify adverse trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Act as an integrated team leader with engineering and operations to investigate and correct various quality issues related to internal non‑conformances, product returns, supplier issues, customer complaints, and corrective action requests with clear and concise reports to customers.
  • Participate in cross‑functional team projects to improve the overall organization.
Qualifications
  • University degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years experience.
  • Proficient with problem‑solving and statistical analysis using quality tools (Pareto analysis, statistical process control, multivariate DOE, 8‑D).
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards including AS9100.
  • Knowledge of document control and calibration systems.
  • Project management experience.
  • Proficiency in SAP Quality Notification module.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Preferred Certifications
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • ASQ CQA or CQE.
  • PMP.
