POSITION SUMMARYThe Quality Inspector performs quality control inspections of reconditioned Genie aerial equipment to verify conformance with established specifications, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. Working independently within established procedures, this role inspects materials, components, and finished units at defined stages of the reconditioning process. The Quality Inspector documents non-conformances, adheres to company protocols for rejected items, and supports quality assurance objectives through accurate inspection, testing, and documentation.
This position does not have authority to approve product disposition, deviations, or release decisions outside established procedures.
- Inspect reconditioned boom lifts, and components at incoming, in-process, and final inspection points to verify conformance with established product specifications, quality standards, and work instructions.
- Use inspection checklists, measuring devices, gauges, and testing equipment to evaluate product quality, accuracy, and precision in accordance with defined procedures.
- Accurately record defects, deviations, and rejected items in inspection and production records. Prepare non‑conformance documentation and follow established protocols for disposition and escalation.
- Perform visual, dimensional, and functional verification checks as specified to confirm that reconditioned units meet defined operational and quality requirements prior to release.
- Complete required inspection records, certifications, and documentation to ensure traceability, compliance, and audit readiness.
- Coordinate inspection activities with production and warehouse teams to ensure inspections are completed efficiently and in alignment with production schedules.
- Provide inspection data and documentation to support root‑cause analysis and corrective action efforts led by Quality or QMS personnel.
- Ensure inspection forms, logs, and digital records are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with QMS requirements.
- Perform inspection activities independently within established procedures and work instructions. Perform inspections at height, including entering and operating from Genie aerial work platforms and carriages as required, while properly utilising fall protection systems and following all fall prevention and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Participate in and support the principles of Open Book Management.
- Employees may perform other related duties as needed to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. The frequency and duration of the duties described may vary based on production needs, equipment condition, and workflow requirements.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Typically requires 3–5 years of quality inspection, product inspection, or industrial manufacturing experience.
- Demonstrated ability to perform inspections independently within established procedures.
- Experience using inspection tools, gauges, and measuring equipment.
- Ability to read and apply product specifications, drawings, and SOPs.
- Basic computer and data entry skills for inspection documentation.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and inspection documentation practices.
- Experience with mechanical equipment or industrial products preferred.
- Comply with all Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and documentation requirements.
- Follow all company safety, environmental, and regulatory standards at all times.
- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing inspections in production areas.
- Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and continuous improvement objectives.
