PositionQuality Assurance & Quality Control Specialist – Springfield, IL on site.
Your Role at REEL USA- Contribute to building equipment that lasts.

Your primary duty will be to ensure that products, materials, and processes meet the highest quality standards, including ASME and NQA‑1 requirements. You will oversee quality control from material reception through final delivery and support our quality system.
- Work safely and actively participate in REEL USA’s safety, health, and environmental programs; attend team meetings and complete safety training.
- Validate quality records against applicable standards, drawings, and purchasing requirements.
- Inspect quality of materials, in‑process products, and inventory (goods receiving).
- Manage non‑compliance reports – writing, follow‑up, and closure.
- Write inspection reports and other quality documents.
- Participate in creation, maintenance, and management of quality records.
- Drive improvement of the quality system.
- Perform quality control (dimensional inspection, hardness measurement, paint inspection).
- Support the quality assurance program as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science in Quality Assurance, Quality Management, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in quality inspection in a manufacturing facility, preferably in a regulated environment, including experience under NQA‑1 and/or ASME quality requirements.
- Proven experience writing and maintaining quality processes and procedures in a QMS environment.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and autonomy.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
- Knowledgeable about metrology, materials, calibration, auditing, and inspection techniques, with ability to use relevant hand tools.
- Familiar with ISO 9001, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Documentation Practices, and traceability concepts.
- Collaborative team player with strong written and verbal communication, active listening, and ability to work independently.
- Positive safety, health, and environmental record; familiarity with PPE, confined space entry, lockout/tagout, hot work, safe work permitting, emergency response, and hazard awareness.
- Effective time‑management and organizational skills.
- Ability to remain calm and react effectively in critical situations.
- Experience with accident and near‑miss reporting, incident investigation, and accountability to standards.
- Good hand‑eye coordination, manual dexterity, and touch perception.
- Physical requirements:
climbing stairs and ladders; standing, sitting, kneeling, squatting for extended periods; working at heights and on ladders or grates. - Visual color and shape discrimination for tasks.
- Visiting suppliers during and after an active project.
- Visiting REEL sites as required in North America (USA, Canada).
- Pay – Salary wage range $70,000 – $100,000, with actual compensation based on skills, qualifications, and experience.
