Associate Research Project Manager (ARPM)
Hybrid:
Onsite presence and travel to Mercy sites as needed
Mercy Research is one of the nation's largest fully integrated, community health system-based research organizations. It engages in sponsored oncology and non‑oncology clinical trials, outcome‑based research, and supports investigator‑initiated studies, research led by Mercy caregivers, and scholarly activities for students and trainees.
Position OverviewThe Associate Research Project Manager facilitates the startup, modification, and closeout of studies for Mercy researchers, trainees, and students and assists Mercy physicians with requirements for Humanitarian Use Devices (HUDs) and Expanded Access/Compassionate Use programs. This role provides hands‑on support for REDCap project design, data quality management, and researcher education, enabling high‑quality research execution and continued growth of Mercy’s research portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Support researchers in designing, building, testing, and modifying REDCap data collection forms and surveys.
- Assist with data quality checks, dataset exports, and preparation of data for analysis.
- Assist with development of REDCap educational materials, tools, and resources.
- Support the development and refinement of standard operating procedures for REDCap utilization.
- Coordinate and track investigator‑initiated studies, HUDs, and Expanded Access/Compassionate Use requests from startup through completion.
- Maintain ongoing communication with study teams and provide project status updates.
- Coordinate with Mercy Graduate Medical Education, Pharmacy, Clinical Education, and other departments.
Mercy Research currently supports more than 100 active investigator‑initiated studies and 50 active HUDs and Expanded Access/Compassionate Use interventions. This role is critical to sustaining compliance, data quality, researcher support, and program scalability.
MinimumRequired Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of healthcare or clinical experience demonstrating capabilities relevant to research project coordination
- Experience may be obtained through professional roles, completion of college degrees, or a combination of education and applicable work experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a health‑related field
- Experience:
- 3 years of project management experience in a clinical research organization
- Certification: Professional certification in research or project management preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and coordination abilities
- High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across diverse teams
- Clinical research knowledge and familiarity with research reporting
- Database management experience
- Self‑starter comfortable with innovation, change, and hands‑on work
