Job DescriptionSSA Group at Wonders of Wildlife in Springfield, MO is looking for outgoing personalities to join our team here at the Aquarium. Many great benefits available.
Position Title:
Retail Associate
Reports to:
Retail Supervisor(s), Assistant Retail Operations Manager, and Retail Operations Manager
- Fulfill guest’s needs quickly and efficiently.
- Inform retail leadership in a timely manner when item quantities are low or a special request occurs. Work with the warehouse team to pull & fill items as necessary.
- Relay relevant comments received from customers directly to supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
- Uphold company policies and procedures.
- Perform the steps of SSA EXTRA Guest Service to ensure a memorable experience for every guest and client.
- Check and stock supplies in counter area, floor display, floor stands and cabinets neatly, accurately, and in a timely fashion.
- Clean tables, chairs, equipment as needed.
- Keep counter and floor in work or service area clean and free of debris.
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer as assigned.
- Merchandise product to maximize sales.
- Increase sales through promotional items or suggestive selling.
- Support the unit in setting an example for Company & Client guidelines regarding Sustainability/Conservation efforts, displaying knowledge and providing teaching opportunities to staff as needed.
- Support SSA/Unit in driving community effort through hiring, engagement activities, and opportunities to give back.
- Perform other tasks as deemed necessary.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Thrive in a team environment while working independently and being flexible in a fast‑paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and implement written and verbal instructions.
- Basic computer proficiency, including POS systems and Excel.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and manage boxes weighing 10–35 lbs as part of the operation.
- Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Promote an inclusive & supportive approach within the Brand team and continue networking at all units.
- Remove barriers and empower growth and opportunity for team members at all levels.
- Lead by example through Sustainability/Conservation efforts, sharing knowledge and providing teaching opportunities to staff.
- Engage with SSA/Unit in community efforts, including hiring, engagement activities and opportunities to give back.
