Position Overview

We are looking for a highly driven Business Development Representative to go out into the community, build relationships with business owners, and bring new commercial opportunities into our agency. This is not a sit‑behind‑a‑desk role. This role is for someone who is comfortable getting out, meeting people, creating opportunities, and closing business. If you’re someone who waits for leads, this is not the position.

If you’re someone who can create your own pipeline and turn conversations into clients, you will thrive here.

What You’ll Do
  • Build Relationships in the Community
    • Prospect local businesses (in‑person, referrals, networking)
    • Develop relationships with business owners and decision‑makers
    • Become a trusted local resource for business insurance
  • Generate & Manage Opportunities
    • Identify commercial prospects (BOP, GL, Property, Auto, etc.)
    • Conduct fact‑finding conversations
    • Build and manage your own pipeline
  • Quote & Close Business
    • Present tailored solutions—not generic quotes
    • Position value over price
    • Close new business and build long‑term relationships
  • Protect & Expand Accounts
    • Review policies and uncover gaps
    • Cross‑sell additional lines when appropriate
What Success Looks Like
  • Consistent new commercial policies written each month
  • Strong pipeline of qualified prospects
  • High activity levels
  • Ability to win business through relationship and strategy
Who This Role Is For
  • Competitive and self‑motivated
  • Comfortable with in‑person prospecting
  • Strong communicator
  • Driven by performance and income
Who This Role Is NOT For
  • Someone who needs constant direction
  • Someone uncomfortable with prospecting
  • Someone looking for a low‑activity role
Compensation
  • Base salary + commission
  • Unlimited earning potential
  • Performance‑driven incentives

Compensation $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Requirements
  • Property & Casualty License (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong work ethic and accountability
Why Our Agency
  • Proven systems and support
  • Strong local brand and reputation
  • Clear expectations and performance standards
  • Opportunity to build a long‑term book of business
