Summary
The Rental Account Manager serves as the primary Rental Sales/Marketing function at the BU level, supporting commercial rental and trailer services product lines. The role focuses on increasing Ryder’s rental sales presence, generating profitable new accounts while retaining existing accounts, driving rental revenue growth and improved return on assets. With lease conversion quotas, the position also enhances lease sales productivity for the Lease Sales organization.
EssentialFunctions
- Sales:
Develop leads through cold calls, telephone solicitation, and customer visits. Use product knowledge to assess customer needs and develop proposals. Work with rental operations to ensure equipment availability and train RSR in phone skills and marketing techniques. Make contact with decision makers and prepare competitive proposals. - Customer Retention:
Maintain contact with customers via visits and phone calls. Resolve complaints and monitor long‑term rental needs. Retain customers in a price‑competitive market and schedule retention visits to maintain strong relationships. - Time Administration:
Prepare proposals and contracts, maintain customer files, and coordinate with other BU departments. Ensure data integrity in the DPS system, process credit approval, collect receivables, manage maintenance‑PM status, and update scheduling. - Scope of Decision Making:
Follow up within specified time frames, comply with company procedures, and handle collections of past‑due receivables diplomatically. - Additional Responsibilities:
Perform other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or equivalent experience.
- One (1) year or more sales experience or equivalent training required.
- Three (3) years or more sales experience preferred.

Compensation InformationThe compensation is influenced by experience, education, and market data. The role may be eligible for an annual bonus, commission, and/or long‑term incentive plan based on level and type.
Pay TypeSalaried
Pay Range- Minimum Pay: $45,000
- Maximum Pay: $50,000
