Area Director of Sales

Location: LaQuinta Inn and Suites and Echo

Employment Type: Full-Time, Salaried with Bonus Structure, Exempt Position

Are you a driven, dynamic sales leader ready to take your career to the next level?
Director of Sales to lead our sales efforts and maximize revenue across all segments — including room bookings, catering, corporate groups, and special events.

As a key member of our leadership team, you’ll oversee a talented sales staff and play a vital role in shaping the hotel’s presence in the market. From creating strategic marketing plans to developing long‑term client relationships, you’ll be at the forefront of our growth.

The successful candidate will have a "hunter" mentality, with a strong capability to expand and grow new accounts and drive new business to the property.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead all hotel sales and marketing initiatives, driving revenue across room and catering departments.
  • Supervise and motivate the sales team including managers, coordinators, and catering staff.
  • Develop and execute a strategic marketing plan and sales action plan.
  • Cultivate new accounts and maintain strong relationships across corporate, government, SMERF, leisure, and association markets.
  • Conduct engaging site tours for prospective clients showcasing the property’s best features.
  • Represent the hotel in the community and participate in industry organizations.
  • Oversee promotional campaigns and customer communication efforts.
  • Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction that drives repeat business.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in hotel sales and marketing.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a high‑performing team.
  • Strong negotiation, sales, and client relations skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • Working knowledge of sales systems (Delphi experience a plus).
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Familiarity with the local market and a proactive, guest‑first mindset.
  • Bonus:
    Experience with kosher catering and multicultural events is a plus.
