Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Vice President of Sales to lead our national sales organization for a fast-growing, $250 million manufacturer of premium security and life safety alarm systems. With 26 sales territories across the United States, this executive will be responsible for driving aggressive revenue growth, optimizing sales performance, and building a high-performing sales culture focused on both new business acquisition and existing account expansion within the dealer, distributor, and direct commercial channels.

The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with deep experience in the security, fire alarm, or building technology products industry who can scale a national sales team while delivering consistent double-digit growth

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, Master s degree highly desirable
  • 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a VP or National Sales Director role.
  • Proven track record of scaling sales organizations and delivering consistent revenue growth in the security, fire/life safety, or building technology products industry.
  • Strong experience managing large geographic sales teams (20+ territories preferred).
  • Deep understanding of dealer/distributor business models and commercial security sales cycles.
  • Demonstrated ability to build high-performance sales cultures with strong accountability.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel 40-50% of the time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive national sales strategy to achieve and exceed annual revenue targets (current run-rate: $250M).
  • Lead, coach, and inspire a team of 26 Regional Sales Managers and supporting sales personnel across the United States.
  • Drive new customer acquisition while expanding wallet share with existing dealers, distributors, and commercial end-users.
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Product Management, and Operations to align go-to-market initiatives with customer needs and competitive positioning.
  • Establish aggressive but achievable sales forecasts, KPIs, and territory plans; implement performance management systems and sales incentives.
  • Identify and penetrate new market segments and strategic accounts (national accounts, large integrators, government, education, healthcare).
  • Oversee pricing strategy, contract negotiations, and major deal closures.
  • Travel regularly to support field teams, key customer relationships, and national trade shows.
  • Provide executive leadership on competitive intelligence, market trends, and product feedback to the senior leadership team.
  • Build a scalable sales infrastructure including CRM optimization, sales process standardization, and sales enablement programs.
  • Observe and adhere to DMP’s data classification standards.
