• Receive and triage service calls from the Service Resource Center, documenting equipment or system malfunctions.
• Contact customer representatives to ascertain system problems and coordinate service visits.
• Diagnose and repair electronic fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound, and communications systems at customer sites.
• Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices, bulletins, and modification notices.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
• Service, troubleshoot, and install multiple manufacturers’ fire & life safety systems, including Simplex‑Grinnell.
• Use communication devices such as smartphones, laptops, and tablets to complete service acknowledgments with proper coding.
• Obtain customer signatures after completion of service calls.
• Participate in a scheduled on‑call rotation and assist in after‑hours support as needed.
• Mentor and train other service team members.
• Perform panel repair/reprogramming, device replacement/replacement, low‑voltage circuit troubleshooting, and system testing.
• Provide recommendations and upsell solutions to ensure facility efficiency.

• At least 3 years of experience with fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound, and communications systems.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
• Good working knowledge of computers and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Physical capability to lift up to 70 lbs, climb ladders, scaffolding, and high‑lift equipment up to 40 feet, work in ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and occasional on‑call or after‑hours work.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record and ability to maintain truck inventory for timely response.
• Adherence to safety guidelines and positive organizational skills.
• High‑level customer service orientation.

• Technical training such as NICET II and HIRING.
• Experience with CCTV, IT, and IP networks.
• Relevant national, state, and local licensing.
